Lollapalooza 2013

This is a recap of my super exciting weekend at Lolla, so if you have no interest in great music, a classy city, unique musicians, and excessive fangirling at all of the things previously mentioned, then move along (though you will be missing out)!

To expand on my facebook post, here are my highlights of Lollapalooza 2013:

Alex Clare: that awkward moment when he held his mic out for a song and no one knew the words... 

figures that people only know the words to "that one song on that one alternative station"

...and then he sang "Too Close" and *then* everyone did.

Tegan & Sara: Tegan's shout-out to a fan's "Sara will survive Lollapalooza" (she had a heat stroke last time) and then getting everyone to cheer Sara on.

Alt-J: everyone making the "∆" sign as soon as we heard "Tra-la-la-Tra..." (sorry, only started recording mid-song)

Vampire Weekend: ALL OF IT, their new songs + the classics, Oxford Comma and Walcott
(This one's Oxford Comma, because I DO give a big whoop about it)

Phoenix: the dramatic entrance, amazing light show, Thomas Mars's French accent, PLUS the fact that I touched his butt while he was crowd-surfing back to the stage. True story.

This weekend was definitely worth running the 0.9 miles to catch the train, showing up to work bleary-eyed, and walking around with that faint buzzing in the ears.  If you ever plan on going to Lolla, you can DEFINITELY count on seeing me there!
